Studio Pilates

Studio classes are run in the garden studio at Studio One, Tunbridge Wells.  This welcoming studio has three Reformers, a Cadillac and a Wunda Chair, which are all used during studio sessions. 1:1; duet and group classes (maximum of 4 people) are available.

Group classes are run in a style of circuits with each particpant undertaking exercises that are individually selected for them.  This tailored format allows for lots of individual attention.

The Wunda Chair provides perhaps the best place in the Pilates studio to enhance stamina, control and precision in your pilates workout.  Being a much smaller piece of equipment than the Cadilliac and the Reformer the same exercises on the Chair can seem more challenging as there is less surface area available for support.

The Cadillac, in contrast to the Reformer, has a static bed, but similarly uses variable springs with additional  attached loops and bars to both resist and assist with gravity-based exercises.  The Cadillac is extremely versatile, the exercises are performed lying down, seated, kneeling, and standing, according to the individual's needs and abilities.  The Cadillac offers a supportive place to refine skills away from the moving platform of the Reformer.

The Reformer is the most well known piece of pilates studio equipment, which offers a high level of support to the user.  Consisting of a moving carriage connected to adjustable springs, which provide resistance or assistance, and straps to move the carriage with your hands or your feet.  You can lie, sit or stand on the reformer for a full-body work out, tailored to your needs.
